Safe Rides

Safe Rides is a transportation service our school kindly offers to students unable to drive home, primarily to prevent drunk minors from driving under the influence. Advertising a “safe ride” just a phone call away, the program ensures a “no questions asked” policy in order to eliminate the caller’s fear of getting in trouble if they are indeed intoxicated. No questions of any kind. Ever.

Do call Safe Rides at (408)391-1211 during any time between 11pm-2am on Fridays. Why? Who cares.

Blue’s Clues

Young children of the recent generations have been acquainted to a show of some sort called “Blue’s Clues”, which follows the exploits of a young man named Steve with a blue dog named Blue (creative), and talking furniture. This kind of experience may be the result of the abuse of ecstacy, but there is no real implication of this other than the talking furniture. And the blue dog. And his choice of attire.

Season 3 just ended, and the episodes were always the same. For about 300 days a year, 20 min each day, Steve is apparently compelled to look for a hiding Blue, or “clues” that that would indicate what Blue wants to do for the day. This adult is allowing a blue dog to run his life. You would expect Steve to snap after so many incidents of looking for these stupid clues, only to discover that the clues simply reveal that Blue wants to play a stupid game of fetch.

However, I have to admit that the finale of Season 3 was outstanding. It put together all the pieces that didn’t make sense about Steve’s character until now, as if all the preceding seasons and episodes were organized to set up this climax. It was incredibly engrossing. In fact it was grotesquely engrossing. Take a look at the final scenes of it.

Can’t wait for Season 4.
